Most people have not heard of us – Aurigny Air Services, The world’s best carrier

Aurigny Air Services has stunned the aviation world by being named the world’s best carrier.
Guernsey-based Aurigny, which flies passengers between the Channel Islands, the UK and France, landed the accolade after a survey of 12,000 passengers by UK consumer site.
It topped the poll for the short-haul category, which budget airline Ryanair was rated the worst short-haul carrier.
Aurigny achieved an 87 per cent satisfaction score, compared with just 32 per cent for Ryanair.
Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand were rated the most popular long-haul carriers.
It won the short-haul category despite the fact its passengers are not offered any food on board and there are no cabin crew because its planes are so small.
Agnes Perry, 48, described what it is like flying with Aurigny: “If it’s a short flight, you do not get any food. The planes are so small there’s no central alleyway and there’s enough room for two people to be side by side and one pilot.”
Aurigny spokesman Mel Rees said the result was “great news”, particularly as “most people have not heard of us”.
